Went to a book fair last night. Matt is a better bargain-hunter than I, but I still only spent $30 and got a few good things.

Sarah Champion (ed.) - Disco 2000 [short stories]
Hope Edelman - Motherless Daughters (I started this today and it's going to be an incredibly difficult read, but I know I have to do it.)
Jeffery Eugenides - Middlesex
Edward S. Herman & Noam Chomsky - Manufacturing Consent
J. K. Rowling - Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (On the eve of *all* of you going mad about the new book, curiosity got the better of me and I finally bought into the hysteria. For $1!!)
Tim Winton - Cloudstreet (Really needed my own copy of this, not least to take around the world and lend to anybody and everybody.)
'Does Dracula Have AIDS?' (A 1987 book of transcripts of ABC TV hypotheticals.)

Yes, the Save The Children Fund book fair sold me *that*...!!! (As Matt noted last night, check out how scared the boy looks! *l*)

The boy defn looks worried. & the boylover looks... surreal somehow. Like... George Jetson? Except a sorta androgynous alien version? & his ears are too big. He's an elf! A lotr elf with '50s hair!

For the record, I'm with Joss. Dracula does not have AIDS, because dead things don't make good hosts.

You're the second person to mention the elf-ear thing!! I guess if he's an elf, then the image can be filed under fanart and the whole thing becomes suddenly quite okay ;)

Oh, there is </i>nothing</i> okay about fanart. Especially Spock-elf boylove fanart.
